Saint Lucia Secrets: Endless Adventure

Image
Saint Lucia Secrets: Endless Adventure The "Hawaii of the Caribbean," as St Lucia has been dubbed, is so lush and well-protected, the immense amount of activities the island has to offer should not be a surprise. Just a few things you can do while on the island are sailing, whale watching, hiking, scuba diving, bird watching, shopping, and there is seems to be a festival somewhere on the island nearly every month. On a previous trip, Courtney and Rachel experienced the sulphur mud baths, a waterfall, and sailing through Joe Knows Tours. And you can save time and enjoy gorgeous views of the island from your own helicopter that takes you from the airport to your hotel, like Rachel and Andrei did on their honeymoon. On this trip, we took a tour through Island Routes that included three stops. Our zip lining included twelve lines, amazing views, and the best guides we could have asked for! Our guide took photos and videos for us along the way for no extra charge. The...

Saint Lucia Secrets: Family Resorts

Image
Saint Lucia Secrets: Family Resorts Saint Lucia isn’t just for couples and groups -  it’s a wonderful destination for families, as well! We toured two unique properties that are perfect for families. Anse Chastanet - If your family is in need of some relaxing quality time, this is the resort for you! This beautiful boutique hotel is a wonderful option as long as the kids are at least six years of age (during the summer months, but minimum age is ten for all other months). - Inspired by nature and local culture, this resort is surrounded by a UNESCO World Heritage Site on land and a marine reserve from the ocean. Many of the rooms are missing the fourth wall to bring guests even closer to nature. With a serene setting, three restaurants, and plenty of excursions to do both on land and in the sea, families can truly focus on reconnecting and rejuvenation. Royalton - This beautiful all-inclusive is situated on a gorgeous, expansive beach, and is comprised of t...

Saint Lucia Secrets: Boutique Resorts

Saint Lucia Secrets: Boutique Hotels Why stay at a boutique hotel? These resorts (generally 10-40 rooms total) have a lot of things going for them despite their smaller size. Boutiques can provide you with one-of-a-kind experiences. You won't be just a number - you will experience wonderful, personalized service from the moment you step foot in the lobby. Your bar tender will know your favorite drink. Your concierge will know your kids names. Many boutiques in Saint Lucia are striving to be in harmony with the environment. And the settings and architecture are all unique - each one has its own special niche and personality! Read below for info on the four boutique hotels we toured while in Saint Lucia. Jade Mountain This luxury resort has taken the concept of being one with nature to a whole new level! The organic and unique architecture is unlike any other. Situated high above the beach, it is surrounded by the lush tropical forests of a reserve. The rooms (pictured above...

Saint Lucia Secrets: Sandals Resorts

Image
At Personal Travel, we only recommend destinations and properties we have either seen for ourselves or know someone who can vouch for it. Sandals and Beaches Resorts are some of the best All Inclusive resorts out there and we have visited them all. We can personally vouch for their consistency and excellence in service and quality. There are three Sandals Resort properties on the island of Saint Lucia - and we would recommend each one!!! They are each unique and therefore cannot be summarized as a group, so I have broken it down for you by property with what makes that property an amazing one. Sandals Grande Saint Lucian - Pictured above, the Grande definitely lives up to its name, particularly because of its expansive beach with beautiful views of the hillsides and peninsula in the distance. The water is turquoise and calm and this allows for a large number of water sports to be offered here. - The Grande also has a diverse selection of unique rooms - from Over-the-Water Bun...

Saint Lucia truly has something for everyone. This lush, volcanic Caribbean island has beautiful, unspoiled splendor just waiting to be explored. With help from the volcanic soil, the lush tropical forests cover the entire island, including the iconic Piton Mountians. These twin peaks are right next to Sulphur Springs, the world’s only drive thru volcano. You can drive right up to the edge of the springs and even take a sulphur mud bath! Whether you are seeking adventure, nature, culture, spectacular diving, or romance, you will not be disappointed! During our seven day trip to Saint Lucia, we experienced the island’s natural beauty, met its welcoming people, and saw many of its beautiful resorts. From eco-friendly boutique hotels tucked in the hillsides providing amazing views of the coves below to the elegant all-inslusives located on splendid beaches, every resort was unique and worth exploring. We only had time to do one excursion during this visit, but this Island ...
